Halsey Minor is a client of the business I work for, and a number of my friends worked with him at CNET in the early 90s, so I have some experience with him. He is a cocky, litigious idiot who has embroiled himself in controversy and ruin everywhere he has acted. He's lost tons of money in art, hotels, etc., and is engaged in all sorts of legal actions to try and forestall the inevitable losses of money and face that await him. I have never come across someone more arrogant.

Yeah, I was just reading this yesterday. Living in Virginia and having an interest in many of the old estates, it's a damn shame.

That said, if you're ever in the area, visit Montpelier (Madison's estate) -- they've done a great job bringing it back over the past few years.
