Precisly. Cameron's policies for the UK are in trouble at the moment. The UK may need to switch to stimulus mode soon, and if the EU can be blamed for the policy switch so much the better.

On the whole I wouldn't place much faith in Cameron's judgement on Europe, which seems "unsteady" at best. He got blind-sided at the summit in December. He snubbed Francois Hollande 3 months ago but now wants to be his friend. What's he playing at?
