I heard on Bloomberg that the Aussies export 2/3rds of the worldwide supply of type of coal needed to make steel.

If you read the report it is not clear what the causes are. Floods in Australia, the Chinese New Year holidays are cited as well as economic slowdown. Shall have to wait a couple more months to see if there is a sustained tendency here IMHO.

Thanks for the update Mega.

From the picture tells a thousand words category...Peabody Energy has significant Australian coal export exposure.

Also a factor, cheap nat gas and a difficult regulatory environment haven't helped.
