Making 9 Million Jobless Vanish: How The United States Government Manipulates Unemployment Statistics

Just as important is the question; is the United Kingdom carrying out a similar exercise to manipulate the statistics here in the UK?

Amerman is one smart cookie. I suspect the UK unemployment picture is coming very close to that mentioned in this article. The UK are able to cover it up far more skillfully with their government sponsored 'training' programs.

One good long hot summer coupled with too many inner city youths with too much time on their hands and things could start burning across the nation again.

the question is (still) what happens with the OWS movement once the daffodils start poppin up?

the other question is: when will the clowns in the whitehouse admit they dont have the first foggiest notion about how to jumpstart the economy? in 4 years at it, not one functional program has emerged (and i DONT count the BS stats offered for "jobs saved or created" as thats simply a shellgame of accounting tricks that did nuthin but maintain the illusion, and a temporary one at at, of the status quo - but NEW JOBS???

        zip, zilch, NADA baybee!

they could've put the borrowed trillions to immediate work simply rebuilding our existing infrastructure, but instead went with the most politically expedient: buy the votes of the base, bailout the big banks and worry about The Rest of US later....

well... LATER is now here mr president - whats the next act in your little play ? (and camelot isnt its title)
