I do remember how extremely poor their 'analysis' of the ex-Soviet Union areas were, ranging from idiotic and wrong analysis of the Ukraine, to Georgia's conflict with Russia, to how Chechnya would turn out, and so on and so forth.

But as I haven't looked at anything they've said in 18 months, perhaps Stratfor was more accurate regarding the Arab Spring and Libya.
    +1.

      Re: Stratfor in Asange's sites?

when i read them, i found stratfor's international political analysis interesting. i was disappointed when they started adding economic analyses, because they were worthless- never learned a thing from those, and it lowered my esteem for the whole operation. i started thinking that if their analyses were so shallow about things i knew about, how could i trust what i was supposedly learning about things i didn't have the background to vet for myself?

"Stratfor is just The Economist a week later and several hundred times more expensive."

Regardless, they are being mocked by the mainstream media and have taken a huge hit. From Time Magazine...

The glossary displays a cavalier approach to customer service. It defines After Action Report as “The final report on the conclusion of an Op. Never show the customer. It’s like showing someone how sausage is made. Nauseating.” It describes a Background Check as “Usually meaningless. Does run up the client’s bill and makes it appear that you are busy.” A Brief is “an intelligence report delivered to the customer.” The Glossary notes that “a good brief can make s*** smell good. Frequently has to.”

sounds exactly like a House of Lies script . . .
