  • Philip Mirowski - A New Voice?

*T* referenced him long ago and I didn't pick up on it. (I think Reggie also made a reference.)

From what I've read so far he seems a very rewarding read if you're a bit obsessed with trying to make some non-trivial headway with what's wrong.

But perhaps most importantly, he can write well about the most thorny stuff.

I think pretty much everyone on iTulip agrees at least in some part with Mirowski's view that mainstream economics is corrupt and dogmatic.

Do you know where Mirowski's alternative economic framework is documented? I'm curious as to what Mirowski believes economics is, as opposed to what he believes it isn't.

The thread "Hutchinson on models" led me to check if anyone had yet mentioned Philip Mirowski, and so I'm following up here. His new book, Never Let a Serious Crisis Go to Waste: How Neoliberalism Survived the Financial Meltdown is going to be released on Tuesday, June 25.

This article might be a preview of the book:

I have just surfaced from immersion in a small sea of newly released books, all with one concern: how to understand the rise of neoliberal ideas to dominance in the late 20th century...

        google already has Mirowski's book:
