The piece has the virtue of having its nose in the jobs issue without being entirely dismissive of the increased markets presented by globalisation.
He also asks why the disparate voices of unionised wage earners across the EU zone (and by extension, all OECD countries) can't unite given the obvious common cause/threat that only seems to come into more focus daily.
I think he's right to the extent that what is needed is bottom-up demands to go with our demand starved / income starved economies.
