I think the result will be only 'approved' candidates backed by the appropriate powers and money will have the resources to hunt down or otherwise nullify any unsavory internet skeletons in the closet.

That or only the Second Coming will provide a sufficiently 'clean' candidate with voter appeal.

I would agree.....

And while I think a corruption free "second coming" is highly unlikely.....what about instead of trying to get "our" guy elected......we focus on denying "theirs"?

I am unconvinced that crowdsourcing is necessarily any better for many applications, especially compared with focused and funded operations.

While certainly crowdsourced material is useful for many tasks, a time and expertise delimited one such as vetting political candidates seems far better suited to bags of money and private investigators.
