assuming you're not being sarcastic, why would you think that's a good thing? the only things wrong with the US are frankly that its political leadership has become corrupted --- in other words more like most of the rest of the world --- and it has failed to culturally integrate immigrants and historically non-anglosaxon groups into the core values that made the US great in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

despite its problems, and the completely ridiculous leadership for decades now, the military power of the US is the umbrella which brought the greatest 70 year period of peace, prosperity, innovation, progress and learning in human history.

when it declines, there is no 'flower' of equivalent power, generosity or tolerance anywhere in sight to take its place. think dark ages, orwellian version. and anyone who is the type of person who reads itulip will suffer greatly.

The period following the Fall of Rome is, I believe, the Dark Ages. Will we see another. Much will depend on the level of grace in which the US exits from global domination. There's the rub.

While Israel has clearly been gaming/red-teaming how to attrit/destroy Iran's nuclear program before they develop a nuclear weapon......doesn't it make sense for Israel to game/red-team how to deter a nuclear armed Iran?

Hyperinflation is very bad if Iran is going through it. This most likely will cause them to strike at a US or Isreali target.

Iran car explosion 'kills nuclear scientist' in Tehran

A university lecturer and nuclear scientist has been killed in a car explosion in north Tehran, reports say.
Iranian media sources named the casualty as Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan, an academic who also worked at the Natanz uranium enrichment facility.
The blast happened when a motorcyclist stuck a magnetic bomb on the car, said Iran's semi-official Fars news agency.

What I would love to see is a crowdsourcing effort to visually display the following:

*non-accidental deaths of Iranian nuclear academics/researchers/industry players

*passenger manifests of Iranian aviation accidents, focusing on any relevant nuclear/Quds Force players

*confirmed/suspected related Iranian defections

*accidental/natural deaths of related Iranian nuclear/quds players

*confirmed/suspected sabotage/accidents at Iranian nuclear infrastructure

We've seen a bunch of incidents over the years. It would be interesting to see all the related incidents mashed up in one updated location.

I think it would prove quite relevant and enlightening as to the extent of the unconventional war that is ALREADY being waged.

Do I THINK we will eventually see further nuclear weapons proliferation and an expansion of both acknowledged and unacknowledged members of the nuclear club?

Do I think it's quite likely a good number of otherwise reasonable Iranians(even sympathetic/pro western leaning) would at least tacitly support the development of an Iranian nuclear weapons capability(based on Iranian history with the US/UK/Israel others since the 1950's) as a deterrent against foreign intervention?

Yes

If I was Iranian, if I was born under the Shah, if I served in the Iran-Iraq War where both sides were intentionally bled out, if I was only 1-2 steps removed from anyone who suffered from Iraqi WMD attacks, if I was only 1-2 steps removed , if I was only 1-2 steps removed victims of the War of the Cities, if I was only 1-2 steps removed from Iran Air Flight 655 victims...from an artificial Iranian perspective I'd probably at least tacitly support the development of a robust and well controlled Iranian nuclear deterrent.

But I'm not.....so I don't.
