Would have been nice if Market Oracle credited iTulip for our idea and artwork. Oh, well.Originally posted by gwynedd1 View PostEd.

That isn't very nice. If it helps I do oft mention this site.Originally posted by FRED View PostWould have been nice if Market Oracle credited iTulip for our idea and artwork. Oh, well.
Just curious, did you also come to the same conclusion that there will be political pressure to actually keep our economy in a state of misery? If you run up the credit card on one account , you are not going to want the interest rate to rise. Thus I suspect there will be moneyed interests that will seal this fate. To me it is quite obvious they do not intend to fix this economy.

Re: So this is the game
What is particularly clear to me now is the motive. I wonder if Europe knows how vulnerable it is? If they implode, think of the absorption dollar carry trade may have to give it a real soaking. The ECB has no such apparatus for offense in a currency war do they?Originally posted by aaron View PostThe article is over 2 years old. The dollar is not below 70, but everything else was pretty accurate. Still at zero % interest.

Re: So this is the game
I am shocked that "Jim Willie", the most revered figure in the demented gold bug universe, of all people, would crib material from iTulip! How could I have missed this epic treachery! A giant with feet of clay.Originally posted by FRED View PostWould have been nice if Market Oracle credited iTulip for our idea and artwork. Oh, well.
I bow my head in shame.Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,
His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. (Daniel 2:31-33)
...
And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. (Daniel 2:41-43)
