I'm going out on a limb, but I don't believe there will be any "Iran Attack".

And I sure am getting sick and tired of FOX news jamming my mailbox full of their alarmism about a US / Iran war. I tried to keep an open mind that FOX was at least marginally a news channel in recent years, but my goodness, are they ever shrill!

These guys are increasingly appearing as real hacks in the news business. I've written them off completely as yet more trash to complement all the existing trash on the far left news blogs as well. Only difference is that FOX is intended to be a real "bricks and mortar" physical news channel, so the fact that they are flim-flam is that much more regrettable.

We should refer to sources like STRATFOR to get a better read on the large difference between mere public posturing vs. the real behind the scenes horse trading going on between the US and Iran.

2-3 aircraft carrier task forces must run an unholy fuel bill loitering outside the Hormuz Straits, but that's a tiny bill compared to an actual shooting war deployment, and the Navy has very real concerns about the viability of Aircraft carriers inside the gulf facing super-stealthy barrages of silkworm missiles.

I bet there will be a lot of smoke and noise - but no war within this administration with Iran. They are leaning heavily on this as a negotiating tool in the absence of too may other good options. It's by no means a clear call though.

You're kidding aren't you? STRATFOR certainly is no different than FAUX News, I'd bet Merdock owns both of them. Certainly there will be no war with Iran, that's a given. Will cows bet like there will be a war with Iran, that's a given as well.

Have you ever read much about string theory? I think you and I are on parallel universes shifted apart by a few nano-degrees.

It seems we are on the same plane, but we are not. In your world, some obscure news sources as yet unnamed are stated to be the only viable news, and reality is something cryptic which you describe tersely to others upon request, and which I regularly fail to understand because your syntax is from a parallel universe.

In my world, I get sufficient intel on what's happening in the world by reading the plodders main news outlets (BBC, Washington Post, Stratfor, Janes, London Times, Economist, etc) and then parsing their divergences to arrive at a crude but functional assessment of the present.

It's ironic that the one person on this entire website with whom I should find myself on an alternate universe from lives in (or claims to live in an iteration of) the same city I do.

Go figure.
