  • Strange poltical devolpments in Britan

Bear with me a mo while i give you the background.

Back in 1972 (I think) Britan became a member of the EU, this was not a happy event. Lots of British cash went into French farmers etc. The Great jobs boom that was promised failed missably to arrive.......good for EU types, not for us.

It was a crappy deal & i often wondered WHY we joined?

As i now see it, the Ango-Saxon empire wanted some control over Euroland. "They" didn't want to see "Germany 4.0" Indeed one British general once said the perpose of Nato was "Keep Russia out, America in & Germany down!".....(This was before it was used to steal Iraq/Libyia etc)

With the "Fall" of the USSR (Or did they just fake it?) The "Ango's" lossened their grip. Germany could become one because "They" had control, besides using the Rothschild banking scam they were close to taking China.....& winning the "Great Game"......

Things are now very differant, The Rothschild scam has gone t1ts up, Germany is well on its way to becoming a Superpower, that will with Russia & China form the forth coming "Euro-asia empire". The British suddenly see themselves pushed to the edge, left to weither on the vine.....

Now, this week we start to hear rummors of this:-
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/poli...hin-weeks.html

Now, over the last 30 years we had odd loony MP's try something like this, but the goverment of the day has been quick to slap it down.........not this time.

    Mega's thoughts:-
Britan is perparing to "Jump ship"......She has little Northsea oil/gas left & her banking ponzi scam is close to collaspe. I suspect the idea is Britan leaves, then has a massive devaluation......Britan then sets her self up as a low tax/labour cost Nation.....

Not sure how that would play out, but we have to sit & watch to see if this vote has "Legs".

Thanks for posting this Mega. As someone living in the UK since the late 90s, your historical perspective is much appreciated.
I believe the underlying thinking could be to use Britain's remaining international clout, the dominant position of the City and hopefully more manufacturing to generate prosperity.

As a Brit who jumped ship in the late 90's i see this as a good thing for British tax payers who can see their over taxed earnings going to pay for "done in Britain" political b.s. schemes instead of in Europe. And may be bad for companies such as Cadbury and Rowntree/Nestle who moved production to marginal EU countries like Poland.
While they're at it why not bring back shillings and 144 pennies to the pound and those too with ounces etc. Also bring back communist motors (British Leyland). Sarcasm off.

Am not sure anything will come of this, but Willam Hage is pushing it & i sense things are about to turn nasty with Europe very soon.

Interesting idea, which might be close to the truth. Hadn't occurred to me before. I hope they fail.

Fascinating. Now that the EU is looking weak, a referendum in the Britain could help to undermine confidence and weaken it further. Presumably that it is the Tories' objective; if the EU can actually be destroyed then they will no longer have to grudgingly accept the necessity of membership.

I don’t see how leaving the EU will make any difference to devaluing the pound. They are doing it now (QE etc) and will continue to do so regardless of EU membership. It's a race to the bottom, just the Euro is practically still stuck at the start line.

Whatever they say they do not want to leave the EU, it is after all the world’s best excuse for doing whatever you want and putting the blame on someone else, namely the EU. However the EU is going to have to change, by choice or be forced to by the markets, so clearly there is something big building up behind the scenes. I would speculate people are discussing some form of split-up of the EU into N (Germany etc) and S (Spain, Italy, Greece etc)

I would also presume that using financial criteria Germany has put the UK in the South and they are spitting out their dummy and basically saying “If we can’t play on the winning side then you can’t play with our ball”. We will leave and go home and cry.

Hence the vote, to gain more power in whatever negotiations are underway. Even if there is a vote for a vote on the EU it could take many many months or years before one actually happened as there would likely need to by many meetings to decide what question to actually ask, how to word it, and which part of the EU (treaties) to leave. And of course if the EU morphed into a fast and slow track EU the politicians would just say the EU does not exist any more so you can't have a vote to leave it.

Of course the UK leaving, or threatening to leave, the EU may well shatter the EU rather than the nice split up Germany wants, giving the UK extra bargaining power. After all if the UK leaves then it would be simpler for anyone else who also wants to leave to go at the same time.

Apparently, there's been some very serious "disagreements" between the Tories+Crown and the EU of late.

The Queen AND the Prime Minister came to Ireland early this year to ask Ireland to join sides so to speak. Royalty and the prime minister have never come to Ireland together before in its entire history. It was an absolute huge red flag to me of some extremely serious stirrings going on in Europe.

I see this backbench referendum as merely a way for "democracy" to make their decision for them. It looks like the UK is going to leave the EU amazingly.
Today the motion to allow the Tories to vote on leaving the EU has been allowed.

Our times are getting more unprecedented by the week.
