Here's a crude AltaVista translation that gives a flavor of the front page article:

Market fears collapse of commercial debt paper

A new crisis threatens the financial markets, because in this week approximately 130 billion $ at short term debenture bonds, so-called Commercial PAPER, becomes due. The gotten back money is invested usually immediately into new papers, which hardly still conceivable observers consider because of nervousness at the market however. Thus financing bottlenecks are foreseeable.

abacho has a somewhat more readable translation. Except they translated Einbruch as burglary... "On Friday a burglary in the US job market had been already announced." :p Then again, maybe that's an accurate translation!;) (We need an emoticon for tinfoil hat.)

Market fears collapse with debt papers

    from Heike Buchter (New York)

A new crisis threatens the finance markets because this week about 130 Bn. $ become due in short-term debentures, so-called Commercial Papers. The got back money is usually invested immediately in new papers what observers hold because of the nervousness in the market, however, for hardly conceivable. Financing bottlenecks are thereby foreseeable.

" The forthcoming restacking could release turbulence ", says Jason Trennert, investment strategist with the New York Researchhaus Strategas. Also other US-branch insiders warn about negative consequences on the liquidity in the bank system.

With it the payment failures at the US-mortgage market come through on an other part of the economy. On Friday a burglary in the US job market had been already announced. Experts assume from the fact that the foreseeable bottleneck is a reason for the problems in the monetary market with the Commercial Papers also because banks hoard liquidity and borrow together hardly money.

The Commercial Paper market is about 2000 Bn. $ . Banks and enterprises borrow so at short notice money. The terms often amount only days or weeks. During the past years the papers have been published increasingly which are based on vested debts - autoloans, credit card outstanding debts or mortgages.

The latter has led to the fact that risky Subprime-construction loans have reached up to now as a liquid and surely valid market for Commercial Papers. The situation is aggravated because many banks of Commercial Papers are of use to finance complicated structured finance products. If they find no investors for the debentures, they feel constrained to take more of these products in own books. With it her capacity could be decreased to the grant of credit and the loan market be loaded.

      Mr. Market stole my job!

The guys on the other Goldman call that hasn't been published yet said two weeks ago that the market for that paper is dead for the foreseable future.

Methinks some of our senior commentators are descending into frivolity. This is a serious community and it's a pity to see it taken so lightly.

Far be it from me not to join in the seriousness - just built one:

Sie verlieren die alten Marmore Jim - der Druck der gegenwärtigen Fälle ist einfach zu viel für sie gewesen. Sie sind unter dem Eindruck, daß sie wirklich in Deutschland wohnen und daß Deutscher die gesprochene Sprache hier ist. Ich denke, daß sie "zeitliches / Sozialverschiebungsyndrom" genannt wird. Als diese ist leuchtender Verstand sehr traurig!
