Meh, there is balance in all things. IMO, most of the current bunker builders are more closely aligned with fundamentalism than hedonism, so perhaps it is time for more people to join the doomer bandwagon.

why would you build it in earthquake country?

The greatest threat to LA is from a long run out landslide in Hawaii. They should check out that LA sits on a 300 foot deep layer of marine sand and ask where that came from.
