    Rule 72.
But you Knew that my friend. Such an honest woman.
And Having read the Thread down I am (continually)amazed at the high education of those who inhabit this site.
Tonight I will sleep well with you on the wall

I knew it was a dumb question, especially here where everybody is so number-literate. But I figure the only really dumb questions are those that go unasked. I have a whopping big learning disorder with math. People who don't get it say, "just use a calculator" but I can't even figure out how to enter the equations. Now I have Rule 72 bookmarked. Thanks again!

Turns out that CPI "accelerated" in July as well

          http://www.bls.gov/news.release/cpi.nr0.htm

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.5 percent in July on a seasonally adjusted basis, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 3.6 percent before seasonal adjustment.

The 12 month change in the all items index remained at 3.6 percent for the third month in a row. The change in the index for all items less food and energy continued its upward trend, rising to 1.8 percent in July, with the shelter and apparel indexes contributing notably to the acceleration. The energy index has risen 19.0 percent over the past year.

Can you believe how great the FED has been? They have devalued the dollar by 12% this past year versus other currencies, yet prices have only gone up 3 or 4% here in the U.S. They have exported MOST of the inflation. People visit the U.S. now for our cheap deals, much like how we used to go to South America.

If Bernanke can keep it up, we will have inflated away half the debt (like EJ predicted), but without paying for the full cost in our daily living. What more can we ask from him?

As usual, I am lost...... Unless my income goes UP, and unless the U.S. govn't's tax revenues go UP, and unless U.S. exports go UP, nothing has been inflated away. Zero..... Otherwise, Zimbabwe would have been rich.

I am so sick and tired of reading/hearing Keynsian bull-ship that I could just vomit now.
