Re: Invasion America
Clearly not the classic Treaty Ports of yore.
Nor the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.
Perhaps more akin to direct US investment in China.
Question: will the CPC have a military presence in the Idaho free-trade zone
(Note: Idaho, often seen as a 'white man's nirvana', has the largest national increase in food stamp recipients. Livin' the dream . . . .)

Re: Invasion America
I see this simply as a way to continue "offshoring" jobs to lower paid workers in "special" areas that will lack legal worker protections (thus giving the corporations based there more profit) while at the same time the finished goods are much closer to the consumer (again cutting shipping and thus increasing profits).
The problem of course, is that is it the former middle class of the USA which is the largest consumer or these goods. These areas will continue to erode the living standards of the middle class, and thus their buying power, hastening the final demise of the general population into poverty.

Land is cheap, labor is cheaper, and the politicians in power routinely bend over and take it up the a** to keep business in the valley. All this is done to bring in "jobs" at the cost of tapping into the aquifer, or later off shoring labor, and sh**ting all over the natural resources in the name of progress.
On the bright side I guess the Boise State Broncos will have a new source of fans/income.

Re: Invasion America
The CCP is making an audacious move here! Will the stooges in the Idaho let them proceed? Do they understand that the SEZ in Shenzhen has a secure border with the rest of the PRC, complete with emigration and customs checkpoints. For example, visitors traveling from Hong Kong to Guangzhou must pass through emigration to enter Shenzhen and then through emigration again to enter the PRC. Does Idaho intend to allow the establishment of a Chinese mini-nation in the continental USA?
If not, then who will provide law enforcement to the Idaho SEZ, who will control movement of people and goods (see concern expressed in earlier blog about military implications) in and out of the SEZ, and so forth?

Re: Invasion America
Three Reasons for doing this:
1) As Brent217 points out. It is a way of importing cheap labor into the US. Similar to how cruise ship lines bring cheap third world hotel and restaurant staff to our ports so Americans don't have to travel halfway around the world to get an ultra cheap travel experience.
2) An end run around increasing transportation costs of the final goods to the US. (Again, hat tip to brent217)
3) A cultural beachhead in the US. China is creating a worldwide diaspora. There are now more Chinese in Africa than there were European's at the height of colonialism. A friend of mine from Hungary tells me there are thousands of Chinese immigrants living permanently in eastern Europe, working and inter marrying with the locals.Greg

I do not know that there is a separate immigration to enter Guangzhou from Shenzhen. A permit might be required for Chinese citizens to rent an apartment or get a job over there, but a restriction on travel??

Boise and the surrounding region is, as of yet, untainted by the third world invasion.
The Chinese, untainted by political correctness, have nothing but contempt for the low-iq masses the ruling elite of the US are using to destroy the country.

#3 is a bit disingenuous. Thanks to European generosity, the population of Africa has exploded over the past century. There weren't many people there, period. Certainly, the number of Africans has increased 10 fold, if not more.
When it comes to the Chinese diaspora in European or formerly European lands, this should sort of indicate that Chinese intentions are nowhere near as hostile as many in the US assume. The Chinese, who think and write about such matters deeply, sort of look at the West as the Romans of the solid Republic looked at the Greeks. They contributed much to civilization, but decadence consumed them.
