Duke Energy is a winner for me, but GE has been my worst loser. My oil sands stoxx have been losers so far, but Exxon a winner. Crescent Point drilling in Saskatchewan for sweet oil has been a winner. Daylight Energy has been a loser. BP has been a loser..... But up or down, I get the handsome dividend flow, roughly 4% or 5% on my money as an annual return.

My heart is with nuclear power for electricity, but that is no way to invest. So, I won't dare to advise anyone.

    GE getting attractive.

      at: http://seekingalpha.com/currents/post/93015:
Friday, September 23, 7:37 PM Put/call ratios are indicating that options traders are more bearish on General Electric (GE) right now than at any other time in the past 14 years, according to the most recent data. The ratio has jumped over 15% since July, to a reading of 1.33, as traders anticipate the company's steady increase in quarterly earnings will be hit hard by Europe’s debt crisis and a looming global recession

      on one of the comments:

Wouldn't it be something if the house of cards which Jack built was the ultimate holder of a whole lot of derivative insurance which stands to be paid off handsomely if we get a global financial meltdown triggered by a Greek, Italy, Spain and Portigal default? AIG was a triple A company too, until they were bust in a matter of days. GE could potentially have that kind of exposure, which doesn't show up on their balance sheet until it has to get run through the P&L because the losses have been realized when GE is asked to pay.

The bodies lie somewhere...and as Warren says, you don't know who is swimming naked until the tide goes out.

Yes, this is the same Warren who just disposed of his equity (warrant) position in the very same GE. What do you suppose Uncle Warren knows that the rest of us would like to know?

Maybe all those put buyers know something too.....

When the price drops to $8 again...

This European debt thing is a load of crap.

Does anyone know what Chinese companies are paying for domestic loans? 10% interest on the principal every month. Yes, every month, not per annum mind you.

Chinese companies are borrowing money to pay back interests on existing loans only.

I sold my BP calls for a 40% loss when it fell from $42.5 to $39. Bad entry.
