I'll bet in the end Cramer lost money over this alleged 12% period.
In the early 90s It was common for me to get a 5% loss when testing systems that claimed 12% returns - the "testing" that yielded the 12% basically said
"our system recommended buy at 5, sell at 8"
even if no-one got a $5 order filled and no one sold at $8.
