That strikes me as a crass exploitation of a valued community. Many great members of our community contribute here for the benefit of other members, but this is not exploited to increase traffic and advertising revenue for the site.

Thank you for that. If the policy were different, the collaboration would likely vanish in an instant. The type of contributions from those drawn to join by a shiny advertising lure would sure be a departure from the present crowd. If you put too much fertilizer on the crops you can kill them.
