Once Upon A Time In a Land Called America...

we had genuine LEADERS, most of whom were born and educated before the leftwing took over the college campuses in the 1960's and began polluting and perverting the youth that grew up amid the cheering of the anarchists, the advocates, and the 'community organizers' who screamed for 'equality' and while that started out as a noble and desirable goal in society, the left/lib/progressive crowd turned it into an industry that has come to rival if not completely conquer the 'military industrial' complex - for we now indeed are _suffering_ under the yolk of oppression brought upon us by the 'social-entitlement-industrial complex - whereby an unelected and out of control buracracy is spending us into oblivion - while the POLITICAL ARISTOCRACY, financed by the FIREmen, sells off our _birthright_ as Free Americans to maintain the delusion the tenured-class has brainwashed the electorate with - that would be the entitlement free-lunch that political class has gotten away with feeding us over the past 50 years.

and starting with the election of the most inexperienced, unqualified prez in history, put in office by outright and fraudulant lamestream media's LACK of focus on the affirmative action candidate's 'record', that basically ignored anything that wasnt flattering, which then allowed the misled and uninformed who seem to get most of their 'news' from the comedy channel and mtv to then basically THROW the election of 2008?

what would you expect to happen....

interesting take on my post. I am a political atheist, so the whole liberal, conservative, neo con ideology doesn't resonate with me. They are two sides of the same coin in my view. With that said, this doesn't negate the fact that the basic, fundamental ideology as it pertains to the socio economic system in America has not changed. it is and has always been a Ethical Egoistic based system. As a result, what is happening now is a natural outcropping and I don't see that changing unless something drastic happens.

But I'll tell you what won't do it: sitting around cynically riffing on how everything is sh*t and there's no point to trying anymore because there's no hope. I'll grant that it can be amusing to read that kind of stuff if the writer has a way with words, and yes, everyone feels discouraged sometimes. But in the columns of his that I read over the span of couple years, Reed was just a one-note charlie about how the United States is a dying, hopeless society and the only thing to do is drink and write it off. Ultimately that is an adolescent and useless response to our problems.
I agree with you but I will add that part of solving a problem is first admitting there is one. So many Americans are in denial or completely lack any awareness of what is going on. Nothing will get "fixed" if nobody is aware of a problem. So some of the "riffers" actually do provide a service. Itulip.com has brought to light for me issues I was totally unaware of. But I agree, too much griping at times, not enough ideas.

I think you would write an interesting book.
