Oh shiny, I am so sorry. When I saw the head line a week ago, I just assumed the "Great Soul" was some celebrity, leader or potentate, that many times are a bunch of hot air, and get over due attention both good and bad.

Now that I see it is your husband I am saddened. The world needs more people like this and not self agrandizing blow hards.
These are the people that really make the world work. I pray that God will comfort you in your great loss and see you through the days ahead.

i, too, when i saw the thread title last week, assumed it was about some public person. on coming to the thread for the first time, today, i see it is so much more personal than i had thought. i can only imagine your pain, shiny! and my sadness reading about it is surely a pale reflection of what you must be experiencing. when someone close to me died, some time ago, i had the thought that while someone is alive, the present moment outweighs all else. but after they die, all the moments of their life become equal. and the measure of your pain is the measure of the great value of your time together.

When my mother died a long time ago, both of us were very young. She suffered greatly with cancer.
Going to the funeral I saw the rest of the world going about their business like nothing happened, like my mother or I did not matter. I just wanted the world to stop for a moment and take a breath.

I give you this gift today Shiny. I will quiet myself for one minute right now, and reflect on your husband.
I wish I had known him. Starting ... So long Guru, I hope to see you on the other side, when it is my time, if God looks with grace upon my life.

i'm not good with loss. with goodbyes. i can tell you from experience that one door closes & another opens, tho that may not be apparent now. life is short & the future awaits & is beautiful when you are ready. but take your time. there is no hurry. take your loss into the depths of your soul & cry it out. once in a lifetime. then when you are ready, move on into the light.
