An iTulip member stationed in Manama, Bahrain has been kind enough to share photos he's taken at the Pearl roundabout and other areas of the city over the past few days. Here are three of them.
Young women in front of the security police
Comment "The young women in front of the security police is holding a Bahrain national flag. Most or all of the security police here are not Bahraini.
They are hired Pakistanis, Jordanians and some Lebanese. That is why they will shoot."
Bahraini women demonstrating
Comment: "Bahraini women are quite incredible. They have more influence within the family unit than almost anywhere else in the Arab world,
although their role in society falls short of what most of us would find acceptable in our societies."
Fish on the barbi in Pearl square
Comment: "Despite the tensions and threat of violence, a party atmosphere pervades the area."
