American Patriots in Some Ways Freer Under British: Audio
Feb 17, 2011
Author Barbara Clark Smith talks with Bloomberg's Lewis Lapham about her book "The Freedoms We Lost: Consent and Resistance in Revolutionary America.''

Had some provocative analysis that brought together quite nicely some of my hobby horses:
- squared the purely apparent circle between hating despotic rule while still recognizing the need for common action and purpose (why this seems beyond the arch-conservative imagination I will never understand)
- digs up the notion of the "patriot economy" (new idea to me)
As always, the issues are pretty basic and timeless it would seem, though they seem a little more apparent in vitro so to speak.
