  • Did the US FED co-ordinate with the ECB?

to rescue the US FED's inflation-fighting credentials, the ECB and BOJ agreed to be the spigots of first and last resort for a while

After all, can't Citi and JPM and Lynch use the ECB and BOJ windows?

Once the Greenspan put has been laid to rest the US FED can then resume Business As Usual (R)(TM), except with its reputation as an inflation-fighter(R)(TM) restored - rescued from the brink of death (which was caused by Greenspan and the Bernanke helicopter speech).

I'm not in the know but I would guess the answer is "yes", and I think the more limited and targeted nature of the Fed intervention is designed to help the dollar, which I am thinking they are worried about.

What is remarkable about this, is that when the chips are down the "globalised world" still consists of Europe, US, and Japan. BRIC have a lot to lose here. But apparently they're only in for the up-side?
