    Re: Rare Earths push up the price of Gas

    Some lessons in the wake of the so-called, "BP oil-spill disaster":
    1.) don't piss-off China;
    2.) rare-Earth elements are rare;
    3.) BP did what it said it would do;
    4.) BP won't be back drilling for the U.S. soon;
    5.) oil is under-priced;
    6.) bacteria are very good at cleaning-up oil spills, especially in warm water;
    7.) the environment on Earth is very robust, otherwise life would have gone extinct millions of years ago;
    8.) never believe "ecologists", nor "researchers", nor "scientists say" nor "experts predict", nor "studies show", nor "oceanographers", nor the UN, nor the EPA, nor NOAA, nor the BBC.
    9.) never forget rule #8;
    10.) BP was found to be "not-neglegent" in U.S. federal court;
    11.) oil is a natural part of the marine environment, almost everywhere on Earth;
    12.) Starving Steve owns 200-shares of BP because BP is good at finding-oil;
    13.) BP will find oil for China, next;
    14.) America might enjoy poverty and starvation in the years ahead.

      Re: Rare Earths push up the price of Gas

      I'm sorry, but the article states that the rare earth cost increase will increase production costs of gasoline about 1 cent per gallon.

      Given that the price of gasoline has increased hundreds of cents in the past 5 years, I fail to see why this is a big factor.
