  • A call to arms from *T*

If the citizen doesn't walk on the streets, with head held high and ready for a fistfight, he will lose his real value. The proud virtues of states depend on a certain roughness of manners. -- Louis-Sébastien Mercier
Fellow iTulipers, the time has come to dig your heels in against the erosion of our liberties and fight for your freedom of expression.

There is a snowballing effort that you can contribute to.

    Things you can do:
    1. Spread the word
    2. Contribute to Operation Crowdleak
    3. The EFF's list on Constructive Direct Action Against Censorship

It's Economics vs Thermodynamics. Thermodynamics wins.

To destroy the machine you have to be part of the machine like PFC Bradley Manning. He was a very small cog in the machine but he did more the his share of damage.

I suppose everyone is part of the machine in some small way--that is, we all are part of this society. But how does change come about? Does it come about by working within the machine or outside it? The idea of making change by working within the machine to change its direction is usually taken to mean "working within channels." Whoever relayed those files to Wikileaks, whether it was PFC Manning or someone else, most definitely did not work through channels. He went outside the machine. That was the source of his power.

There were some insightful things in those videos. What I found disappointing was the suggestion that we can create meaningful change by changing some of the laws and leaving the corporate-Wall Street-Pentagon system intact. We don't just need more transparency. We need a revolution to break the stranglehold of the mass murderers and psychopaths and create a new society.

We do NOT need a revolution, nor riots, nor photo-ops, nor fascism, nor communism, nor violence, nor law-breaking. Instead, we need to do a few simple things such as: a.) Ask your economics professors about the Great Recession, and when does this G.R. end? What's their plan? b.) Ask your ecology professors about why birds and fish and field-mice have habitat-protection thanks to planners, but people live in human-misery? c.) Ask your urban planners why urban land is so expensive, especially in Canada? d.) Ask your education departments why students are cutting-school and joining gangs? e.) Ask your Scottish Parliament why the Lockarbie bomber was released to Libya? f.) Ask BBC why its programmes are sympathetic with radical Islamists--- not to mention, hostile to the West? g.) Ask your engineering professors why "green-tech" has produced nothing, and our standard-of-living is now turd-world? What is their engineering-plan now? h.) Ask your business professors why the FIRE economy has produced nothing of enduring- value? i.) Ask Princeton University how Alan Greenspan and Ben Bernanke got tenure? j.) Ask where Al Gore earned his Ph.D. in climatology?

You kids in universities should be plenty busy! No need for any violence nor confrontations with the police........Just ask questions, and be good kids.

And just what should this new society look like? Will it be a Libertarian utopia where people are left alone to succeed (but unfortunately for the majority likely fail) on their own merits? Will it be a Socialist utopia where the state "guarantees" the people much but when TSHTF actually provides very little. Will it be a mix of the two? If so wouldn't we just be rearranging the deck chairs?

I don't believe he is necessarily talking about a libertarian utopia. Since civilization began, until perhaps World War II, there was never discussion of "rights" without any commensurate discussion of duty. Only lunatics would have suggested society existed to let people do whatever they hell the felt like doing. It was obvious for thousands of years that such a society would rapidly collapse due to rampant decadence and depravity - that is precisely what has happened.

Socialism, Capitalism, Communism and Libertarian all fail because they fundamentally believe in a materialistic and hedonistic view of human nature, ethics, history, and more importantly the future. Only the most depraved are motivated by materialistic desire while the peasants simply wish to indulge in base desires as much as their masters will let them.

The question, going back to the very first philosophers is simple: How do we have wise leaders?

Materialists have believed the rabble would make the best choice. Capitalist and Communists both proclaim to represent the will of the people. The sane, today known as reactionaries, watch with amusement as more people watch Dancing with the Stars than vote in elections. They see tens of millions of peasants descend into a subspecies while they enjoy bountiful luxuries bestowed upon them by said psychopathic leaders in order to buy their votes. They note how despite a level prosperity henceforth unknown to the human race, said humans have become more like monsters than men both in spirit, in deeds, and in the sheer disgusting girth that results from their relentless gluttony.

The society of the future will be created from the rubble by those noble in spirit, just as it always has been. The psychopaths will be removed from society and the primary sources of their power and influence (i.e. usury, mass propaganda) will be eliminated. Discipline will be enforced amongst the slave strata, who only can no peace with imposed constraints.

In a world of declining resources, the riddle of the universe will once again come into the forefront. No longer will intelligent people ask "What useless crap can I buy today?". They will ask "What is the meaning of life? How do I live a satisfying life consistent with human nature and the world in which we have evolved?".

A real spiritual leader will be needed.
