I'm familiar with the OODA(Orient, Observe, Decide, Act) Loop concept in the military sense/concept of "getting inside your enemy's".

I could see how an individual's or a society's OODA loop and the concept of "getting inside of it" could potentially be disrupted and left in a perpetual state of "reboot" by the high noise, low signal ratio....and an ever changing message on what signal we can hear.

Whether that's an intentional and direct effort of aligned interests(I'm not a conspiracy theory fan) to leave us in that "reboot state" or an unintentional and indirect consequence of the multi/mass media environment leaving us in a state of perpetual sensory overload we have today I'm unsure.

We certainly seem to get consistently overwhelmed with short-term, high sugar, low nutritional value news stories with a short shelf live at the expense of long-term, low sugar, high nutritional value news stories with a long shelf life.....while I think the OODA reference might be a great theme to explore, maybe we are simply watching what we are eating...but in the entirely wrong sense....in that we are simply watching AND eating rubbish and have no one to blame but ourselves.
