Re: Why The Germans Think Americans Are Insane

It is a mis-conception to think that poor people in USA don't have Medical Insurance.
All Poor people have Insurance through Medicaid and Medicare(old).
Even if there is income, there are free clinics etc...It is not that dire.

People from all over the world come to USA to give free birth, even heart surgeries. I know.
It is just that you should know how to work the system.

My wife recently wrote a recommendation for a 17 year old patient to get free electricity because
dehydration can cause complication and hence need AC. This patient had this problem at Age 1. So basically for the past
17 years, the whole family got free Electricity, Medical, Medicines....

I am all for helping poor people and I think this article is exaggeration.

Good point. Help is usually there for those who need it in the USA. The problem is more often educating people on HOW to get it. The same ignorance that leads to poverty is at play when it comes to finding help.

I don't think it is possible to fight like this in today's modern warfare. A slave army marching forward because of fear of the machine gun at the back will be sitting ducks for helicopter gunships, remote control bombers and super long range weapons.

Who says they have to march in line?

The machine gun can be behind each soldier's family.

Worked any number of historical instances.

                All defectors are exceptions.

Because we never know how many people contemplated defection - and didn't do it.

We don't even know most of the ones who tried and failed.

More importantly, defection is an individual act.

Soldiers who desert in combat are not merely doing something for themselves, they are actively doing something against their fellow soldiers.
