  • Acronyms.

    Though I have used a couple of acronyms in speech long before anyone thought of text messaging, I find them annoying in written communication especially if I don't readily recognize their meaning.

    I ran across this opinion piece at http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...toc&refer=home
    When Acronymitis Gets in the Way of Economics: William Pesek

    and several that author mentioned I found amusing:

    I recommend reading Pesek's article only if you have nothing else to read.

    Old favorites of mine.

    BMA = bite my ass

    BFD = big f*cking deal

    AMF = Adios my friend

    SAMP = self-appointed morality policeman

    GD = good day

    So if one were on a roll one could write GDMFSAMP. Is that cute and trendy or trendy and cute?

    Does anyone have any out-of-the-mainstream favorite acronyms?

        I'm glad you find something funny Metalman - at least as long as it doesn't have my smileys pasted on it for you.
