Re: Message from Ireland
JIM Corr is one of the "conspiracy theorists" - in this case and much of what he said in the past, rings true imo. The IMF and the EU and Irish Government are looking to transfer anywhere between 100 and 300 billion (nobody knows, wtf!!) of odious debt on to the sovereign, which will be paid by every workiong family in Ireland for the rest of their and their childrens lives. But this is not a story just about Ireland or Iceland or where ever, it is a global one imo and coming to a town near you.
Fuck EM all the IMF, the EU the WTO, BIS, FED whomever. I'm mad as hell.Last edited by Diarmuid; November 25, 2010, 11:57 AM."that each simple substance has relations which express all the others"

Re: Message from Ireland
"Make no mistake; Ireland is not going to spend the next decade wallowing in a bog of despond, beaten down by the the EU, the IMF and a cohort of bullying bondholders."
I believe the link below outlines a likely outcome to the Irish economic crisis.
The Irish have seen much worse and they have wit to overcome this situation. The worm will turn over time, because at the root of it all the Irish the right stuff.
Good demographics, including high birth rate, educated small population, a ruling class that will be dealt with, and at the end of the day they will not allow the IMF or Euro pols to stick it to them.
Economy Lab
Ireland to rise again, with or without euro

Re: Message from Ireland
Privatize the wealth producing assets, socialize the debt to the taxpayers. After all,you can't sell the things that don't turn a profit even as they are socially needed.
Its happening everywhere.
Ireland is worse than bankrupt and more debt will not help.
If I know the Irish they will not go gently into this good fight.
All that he said is well thought out and spoken. I agree with him.
First they came.
They came first for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me
and by that time no one was left to speak up.
My view is the Irish should crank up the printing presses and produce the Irish punt and on a fixed day exchange them for all euro coin and note. Pack up the pretty paper and melt the coin into bricks and sent it by UPS to the EU with a note attached................
Our debt paid in full ... F#@K off, Have a nice day, thank youLast edited by thunderdownunder; November 27, 2010, 07:17 PM.
