  • marketwatch.com removes the dollar index

Yeah, I know marketwatch is just part of bubblevision. I just use it to do very quick checks of prices on a couple stocks, gold, the dollar index, etc.

Last week I noticed I couldn't get the U.S. dollar index (DXY0 on marketwatch) to appear. Thought it might be a glitch. I'm trying again this week and it's still gone. So I'm figuring they're hiding it.

    Gee I wonder why? ;-)

This is all you will ever need:

I do not fade the FDI, ever. When I have in the past it has hurt me. So, don't short PM's when it's going down.

in general, it's probably best not to short items which are in primary bull markets. either play them on the long side, or step aside. save your shorting [assuming you're not hedging or playing a spread] for vehicles in bearish primary trends.

Bingo! Short PM's if you like getting kicked in the teeth.... Go short the dollar, something already in a primary and secular downtrend...

Any opinion as to what the present trend is in US equities?

i'm not heavily into equities, myself, as i'm 70% in pm's and commodity-related investments - i have only 6.5% in a few specific non-energy, non-agriculture related equities, and those are hedged with a short position in equity indices and a couple of banks, totaling -8.5%. so i'll defer to finster on that. his model is showing that there's more upside ahead.

Yeah, I'm still waiting for the big drop in Gold and Oil predicted on this forum a while back.

Are you sure the contract you are looking at (DXY0) hasn't rolled?

I'm not sure of anything. But I see what you mean. So I just plugged DXY0 into Marketwatch Search (11/11 9:39 am ET) , but once again it does not produce a quote or a chart as it previously did. However, following your link, it does. So I don't know what that means.
