    War is inflationary...an extraordinarily efficient way to create inflation in fact. That's the attraction.

    Especially now that US Presidents only get a maximum of 8 years [with the second term uncertain] to create their legacy, unlike FDR's time...

        I am dead serious that war is inflationary.

        And equally serious that times of severe economic stress create "interesting" policy choices. Iraq wasn't about terrorism on US soil, it wasn't about WMDs [anyone watching Colin Powell address the UN Plenary Session on Feb 5, 2003 could detect that] and it was only peripherally about oil, now wasn't it.
