Almost every single consumable commodity has about doubled in the last 4 months.. Wheat, cotton, sugar, cocoa, coffee... Cotton alone in the last two years has about quadrupled.... Prices will no doubt follow.

      PEORIA —
The most important meal of the day is on its way to becoming the most expensive meal of the day.

Bacon and coffee prices have skyrocketed in the last month or so, leaving restaurants and grocery stores, not to mention consumers, holding the bill.

"(Prices) are going up like heck," said Louis Trilikis, owner of Sterling Family Restaurant. "I've seen it for about a month and a half. I used to pay $60 a case for bacon, but now it's $74 or $75."

That's a problem for a restaurant known for its breakfast.

"I can't raise prices yet," Trilikis said. "If these increases keep up for a year and (bacon) prices hit $79 or $80 a case, I'll have to look into raising prices, and I think most customers would realize why I'd have to do it if I have to do it."
