  • Orwellian interpretation of Good Samaritan Law

Basically its against the law now to be a good Samaritan. Here is a link of a man trying to do good deed for the Community by offering FREE rides home to drunk drivers. Apparently this did not please the local taxi businesses and soon they closed the loophole of regulation of rides 'for hire' and he was busted and harrassed for his sensible approach.

Similar to the case in Texas who was arrested and harrassed for babysitting her neighbors kid because she wasn't a certified babysitter -this case was quietly dropped due to outrage. They got better and made sure this one didn't hit the news- of course what XYZ actress is wearing or who she broke up with -is mre newsworthy.

This should make it illegal to be a designated driver? What if now those drunks drive their own car?

Let's not look out for the unintended consequences. Why ever do that in a democracy? Taxi drivers have more votes, so let's look out for them.

Umm -you sure there are more taxi drivers in Peoria than drunks? It would make it the most unique place in the United States of Alcohol

There are more taxi drivers in Peoria than drunks that one man can help for free--I'm quite sure of that, yes.
