The Declaration of Independence

This scene from the John Adams miniseries depicts the roll call on the resolution to declare independence and the subsequent reading of the Declaration of Independence outside Independence Hall. In order to pass, the resolution has to be unanimous and the discussion leading up to the resolution was protracted and contentious. The two states most reluctant declare independence were New York and South Carolina, hence the tension over their decision at vote.

If you have not already seen it, I heartily recommend watching the series. It was extremely well made and well acted.
