No problem. Project one - set up day care centers for those on workfare. Project two -run those day care centers.
(I love monday morning quarterbacking, nothing unexpected EVER goes wrong).

Maybe George Soros or The Tides Foundation can provide that.

Or, strap your illigitimate child to your back or, if they're old enough, put them to work, too.

Better yet, try not having the little bastards in the first place.

Your not supposed to ask those questions, it may lead to answers.

.gov will do whatever it takes to keep the sheeple from asking this question.

Damn I find your views refreshing.

Many of those on food stamps are struggling, deserving people. A lot are also grade "A" dirtbag losers who wouldn't lift a finger to help themselves. Like Master Shake said, we have quite the sense of entitlement here. It's not even questioned. But now we have added a new class of normally employed people who need help. I have no problem with that.

Yes you can get fat because starchy foods are cheap and poor people tend to eat too much of them. You can also get fat sitting on your ass and eating all day. Somehow I missed all the pictures of fat poor people in Africa and Asia. Most of America's weight problem has more to do with education. (Funyons are not a vegetable). Plus the fact that you have to put some effort into finding cheap and healthy food. I wonder how many food stamps are used in conjunction with coupons? My family of five eats for about $150 month thanks to my wife's fanatical coupon shopping.

There may be some double counting going on.

I think... the working poor are eligable for food stamps, although they are technically employed.

A while ago I had the great pleasure of visiting a CCC museum in Northern Wisconsin. The old men who staffed it were some of those who were in the camp. They replanted a lot of forests in the area. I think before that a lot of the forest was decimated by clear cutting and the great pestigo fire.

Anyhow ... they really had a great sense of pride in what they did. They made life long friends too. This was a good program. Nearly 20 years ago I was unemployed for a 6 weeks. The first week was great, then the second week not so good, then I became bored. If I'm unemployed again, I would jump at a chance to join a CCC like program. I could learn a new skill, do some good. I would not want to work in a place where I could not get back home to help with my family. Some of the CCC workers traveled long distances for work.
