    From the cited article:
“President Obama didn’t accept a dime from corporate PACs or federal lobbyists during his presidential campaign,” spokesman Ben LaBolt said. “He raised $750 million from nearly four million Americans. And since he became president, he rolled back tax breaks and giveaways for the oil and gas industry, spearheaded a G20 agreement to phase out fossil fuel subsidies, and made the largest investment in American history in clean energy incentives.”
I hope that clarifies things a bit.

I guess I will go with my own eyes but I will open them first. How about OpenSecrets.org?
        Source of Funds

        Individual contributions $656,357,572 88%
        PAC contributions $1,830 0%
        Candidate self-financing $0 0%
        Federal Funds $0 0%
        Other $88,626,223 12%
But, lest our open eyes fool us, that 89 million catch-all, even though it is only 12% of the total, looks kinda big so let's see what "other" means ... it is:
OTHER: All other revenues collected by the campaign, such as interest from the campaign's bank accounts and loans from outside sources. This figure is calculated by subtracting PAC, individual and candidate money from total revenues received. Negative numbers generally indicate an accounting error by the campaign.
