I'm a firm believer that politics is the major factor contributing to the Macroeconomic direction. It looks like there will be a major change in leadership in Britain. Can some of you from across the pond comment on what will be the likely economic results of a change in government in Britain?
When will they take office?
Would conservatives quickly move to reduce deficit spending?
Would it be more or less a voluntary austerity program similar to Greece?
Would they stop buying U.S. debt?
I'm wondering how big a change it will be and how will world markets react if it becomes clear Britain is going to go through some major belt tightening.
