I honestly cannot tell whether you meant this way, but the way I read what you wrote, it applies the U.S., inter alios.

Is this not obvious? Who are the victims of this [Samuel Huntington's] "Clash Of Civilizations" [terrorism] dialectic and these obvious techniques of oppression?

In summary, the primary impact of techniques such as full-body scanners is psychological.

Former US Dept. Of Fatherland Security Michael Chertoff is not only a major lobbiest for Rapiscan, the principle manufacturer of these machines, but also the primary beneficiary of their installation.

FYI: I hope people realize that in the USA a traveler can opt-out of passing through these scanners. When you opt-out, they'll conduct a hand-wand over your body and quickly inspect your hand luggage.

True, and yet untrue.

I've already gone through an airport with a full body scanner.

I had the choice of not going through it - rather going through a normal scan - but was told if anything beeped I'd have to go through the full body anyway.

I am of the understanding that that is incorrect. The TSA regs are online, and I looked this up a couple of years ago, but I'm working off memory now. But I can assure you that I have never ever been forced to pass through a machine that I did not want to go through.
