Re: Peak Phosphorus ?
Agriculture, at least in the U.S.A., has gotten away from using livestock manure as fertilizer. The runoff from manure in the big feedlots pollutes groundwater and waterways with e-coli and other nasties. We should move the feedlots on a smaller scale close to farms so farmers can use that manure to good purpose. This would cost the farmers less than they're currently spending on chemical fertilizers, reduce fertilizer transportation costs, and lessen the pollution impact of the livestock industry. Manure also improves the soil in ways that chemical fertilizers can't do. Seems like win-win to me.
Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
