  • the coming legal battles, Lynch/Stearns

Nasser Saber recounts a couple of legal rulings - unfortunately I've forgotten the specifics - in some cases the US Government and the FED had no business coming into the cases, but they filed briefs. We don't know how much influence these briefs carried, but the courts went along with them and a couple of years later it became evident why the briefs had been written the way they had been had done so (bureaucratic self interest, of course).

It will be interesting what happens now - how the IRS, FED, SEC and others get involved and whose ox gets gored.

I'm betting Joe Sixpack takes it in the testicles (tax bill, just like the S&L ) and Wall St. walks off scot-free, except for the one or 2 schlubs who the powers that be decide need to be shown off very publicly.

Slighty off topic, on Channel 4 News tonight here in the UK one of the Bank of England types was on. He was a worried mam, "What up asked John Snow?"

He talked about how hedge funds etc chop up debet, then mix it in with other things..............so ITS VERY HARD TO TELL WHAT'S GOING ON!"

He not sure what state of health the Funds are in or who own's WHAT!
