      Re: Wealth Distribution

I have some interesting charts on wealth distribution plotted against other societal measurements, which I'm struggling to place, in a readable way, in the new format.

Bye the bye, does anyone like the new look?

I'm a traditionalist. I wish they'd left it alone. Does anybody know how to change the background colour? The stark white is unappealing to say the least, and I hate looking at it.

I hate the white also. I might like the new format with a less stark color. As is I hate it.

I thought it was just me. I find this new color scheme very hard on the eyes. Wish we could choose our own themes, or that they would go back to the old one.

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Doesn't that kind of diverge from the topic at hand? Would be interested in looking at the graphs.

Diverge from the topic? Can't post the graphs because of trouble with the new format? You lost me on that one, Rajiv.

I'll convert them to PDFs and try again tomorrow.

That is what I was referring to -- mainly because people seem to have responded to that, rather than the topic at hand!

                    Hope PDF is attached!

"The wider the spread between the wealthy few and the impoverished many, the worse the social problems: a statement that appears to be true for rich and poor countries alike. What matters is not how affluent a country is but how unequal it is.

"There is a reason why infant mortality, life expectancy, criminality, the prison population, mental illness, unemployment, obesity, malnutrition, teenage pregnancy, illegal drug use, economic insecurity, personal indebtedness, and anxiety are so much more marked in the US and the UK than they are in continental Europe."

You're a better man than I, Rajiv. That proved beyond my tech 'skills'. (There was a 6th graph. Overlooked?)

Each of those graphs in the original article links to a jpg file. If you right click your mouse on the graph, you should be able to copy the link location. Insert that link using the insert image icon in the edit window -- you should be ready to go
