  • When Will a Major Republican of Conscience Step Forward

No matter your politics, maybe it is time for reasonable people to consider calling these guys formally on the carpet and determine what really happened. It will take a major Republican to do this like Goldwater went to the White House to tell Nixon it was over.

"Major Republican" and "of Conscience" are mutually exclusive. If you have a conscience, that means you don't know how to tow the line enough to have "high electability," hence you will not be considered a "Major Republican."

I know of a few Republicans of Conscience, and I know of a few Major Republicans. The difference between them is as big as the difference between Mula Man and Raz.

I think you could extend that to "Major Politician". Feels like the last days of the (Roman) Republic....

All political parties are bought and paid for.

May I suggest perusing "The Political Illusion" by Jacques Ellul, as I think that will help introduce another perspective.
