And Health Care Reform helps this...how?

That's what I'd like to know also. I'm certainly one of those even with insurance who has had to forgo treatment. I'm surprised those number are not a lot higher after talking to friends and neighbors. How can they really know who is avoiding treatment? Seems to me that would be very hard to accurately measure.

Fully 27.358% of statistics are misused and inaccurate. Another 53.689% are made up.

The statistics above are an example of the latter category

Until Americans start looking like human beings again instead of monsters, none of these statistics even matter.

I bet 5% of Americans can't even exit their homes to reach a hospital because they are too fat.

For the convenience of the viewing audience, let's shrink that image down a bit:

Most folks are good; a few aren't.

Indeed, unless they simply subtract those receiving treatment from the estimated total population, with the assumption that we are all sickos in need of treatment.

By the way, all these stats are pre-crash. Now with actual old-fashioned-statistics-type unemployment somewhere north of 20% and under-employment (minimum wage part time and no health insurance) what ya wanna bet the stats are a bit higher? There is nothing like 2006 stats to show how wonderful our situation is. Mildly deceptive.

                Ditto- word for word.

Maybe the evasion of treatment and prescribed chemicals will be the next thing criminalized. That would pay the insurance companies and keep the jails full at the same time. It sounds like a win win to me, I guess I'd better get on the line to my congressman. Criminal drug evasion has a pleasant ring to it.

I was thinking the same thing. Thanks to PC's smaller graphic, I saw the date of the last data. 2006. That was boom times. Has to be 2-3 times higher in this economy. Hell, even millionaires have probably cut back.

Wow, what an amazingly bad piece of graphic design.

Because the data is provided to you free of charge by GE; which must I say, has no vested interest in healthcare spending.
