After I got over a nasty flashback to trying to say something meaningful about Heidegger in school I enjoyed the preview. A good antidote to technological thinking and a morale booster to all the tinkerers / gear-heads here. (Who is it who's always talking about custom cars? GR## Can't remember.)

There's a nice sounding book out there about the joys of physical but intellectually involving work previewed in an essay here:

Heard the author on CBC and what he said rang true.

Hardly about the kind of mastery involved in being a top-notch musician but a distant cousin I'd like to believe.

Well done trailers, even though I completely disagree with the philosophy that the film espouses.

the joy is in the weighed rational decision hey, haven't found that personally myself but we're all different I guess.

well no i'll adjust that, the weighed rational decision can be joyous but its just if you get to attached to it it becomes a problem. But nothing beats just doing without thinking, surely everyone has has some experience of that and you can tell when someone else is in that zone, you're drawn to it surely.

I have long believed that each of us can be masters of something. OK, perhaps not of something valued by today's society, but masters, nonetheless.

I suppose that the secrets are love, dedication and having the "luck" of contacting with our individual and unique innate abilities.
