    Simple: the IMF print the world's reserve currency, but may need some local currency to bailout - oh say for example Greece - but cannot print Euro...

    So what to do?

    Print confettis and exchange them for recycled confettis so that you can step-up to the plate all over the world when time arises - ahumm - Greece blows up...

      What the heck? Ireland loaning money to the IMF? I wonder if there's more going on here than is visible to us plebeians in steerage.

        Ireland, and the other member countries that agreed to participate, are being offered yet another IMF sponsored "insurance policy". This would appear to be Ireland's premium to "buy the coverage", and perhaps nothing more...
