    Re: Guam Might Tip Over

Agree-if the implication is he is a 'colored' stooge to replace a difficult representative who asked the DIFFICULT questions. Despite all her flaws -atleast she openly in session asked some pointed questions. Unfortunately we live in a world of go along and get along till --I guess--we all go to hell in a handbasket.

I think going on a medical leave is not a bad solution, IF the problem can be taken care of.
              S. I. Hayakawa was a brilliant man. We used his text Language in Thought and Action in my college English classes back in the 70's. He also had the balls to stand up to the SDS/student radical thugs back in the late 60s - early 70's. He's in no way comparable to this clown.

It's rumored that Pelosi keeps him on so he can keep his health benefits.

                Cut him a little slack.

I believe not as well. My respect for Cynthia McKinney has increased over recent years.

                    Re: Guam Might Tip Over

Hayakawa may or may not have been brilliant, but he was also suffering from narcolepsy -- which can be very debilitating.

and that was obviously keeping him from being an effective senator.

                      Re: Guam Might Tip Over

                      From her wikipedia bio

McKinney earned a B.A. in international relations from the University of Southern California, an M.A. in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. She worked as a high school teacher and later as a university professor.

Her political career began in 1986 when her father, a representative in the Georgia House of Representatives, submitted her name as a write-in candidate for the Georgia state house. She got about 40% of the popular vote, despite the fact that she lived in Jamaica at the time with then-husband Coy Grandison (with whom she had a son, Coy McKinney, born in 1985). In 1988, McKinney ran for the same seat and won, making the McKinneys the first father and daughter to simultaneously serve in the Georgia state house.

In 1991, she spoke aggressively against the Gulf War, causing many legislators to walk out in protest of her remarks.[13]

In 2007, McKinney moved from her long time residence in the Atlanta suburb of Stone Mountain to California.[14] She is a Ph.D. student at the University of California, Berkeley.
So she is obviously not a "******* nutcase"

You've been heavy on the sarcasm lately, so I just can't tell. Please tell me that last line wasn't.

I think it gives an interesting point of view on that whole topic (whether a reality, a psyop, or a folk myth.
