EJ & FRED don't want to touch it yet, with good reason.

I am trying to decide how this will play out.

My inner Robert Ludlum or Frank Herberts tells me there is the possibility of machinations within plots within betrayals. or IOW Maguire could be a publicity seeker who's zeroed in on this area in which to gain infamy, and in the end all he does is confuse the market more

Or he could be a deluded individual who's fooled Murphy & GATA (and with those guys, who knows how desperate they may or may not be to get a break, and how thoroughly they've vetted Maguire?)

Or he could be for real. I provisionally believe him but it doesn't mean the price of Gold and Silver will skyrocket. The world's a big place, and even an experienced trader may not know of leveraged longs that are offsetting the JPM position.

Maguire specifically talks about foreign exchange trades related to Silver that would be untraceable.

This manipulation story has been out there for so long that there has been more than a chance that some parties have positioned themselves against the naked leveraged shorts and the market is now actually balanced.

Remember how Goldman made a profit on parts of the subprime blowup? they managed to put on enough trades to make a profit where all estimates would have had them lose hand over fist.
