U.S. bases in Afghanistan closing Burger King and other fast food joints
The U.S. military is shutting down fast food joints such as Burger King, Pizza Hut and Dairy Queen at its bases in Afghanistan.Command Sgt. Maj. Michael Hall, a senior morale, welfare and recreation officer with the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan, confirms the move on his blog.
"This is a war zone –- not an amusement park," Hall writes. "From the moment Gen. (Stanley) McChrystal and I arrived in Afghanistan last summer, we began looking for ways to do things more efficiently across the battlefield – the optimization of ISAF. This effort includes moving and reallocating resources to better accomplish our mission."

Judging by his blog post, putting Command Sgt. Maj. Michael Hall in charge of "morale" ranks up there with putting Greenspan in charge of sound money...
Overweight soldiers won't be a problem on a diet of beef teriyaki or meatloaf with gravy served military style.
We'll have to wait for the results of the next survey before we make any conclusions about morale...:p
