    Re: From Russia with love

You've got to keep in mind Russia's terrible experiences with dumped Chinese goods.

Even now many people here distrust anything made in China due to numberous cases of poor quality, mis-labelling, or even outright criminal neglect. These experiences are starting to show up in other countries now also: witness the pet food recall in the US and the glycerol scandal in central America.

I do understand that Russia is trying hard to discourage China's (and others) mercantilism by imposing draconian import taxes and regulations; the jury is still out on whether internal production will be able to take advantage.

LMAO, just another in a long list of Toronto stock scams, which had absolutely nothing to do with tainted Chinese food.

Once Russia starts exporting oil 365-days per year instead of having winter disruptions, then Russia truly has a Reserve Currency. That's going to happen this year. If you're Russian, you're a dual citizen from some little country.

Speaking at an international economic forum in St. Petersburg, Putin said the current financial system based on one or two currencies no longer met the strategic needs of the global economy, where currency fluctuations had a negative impact on economies.
"In answer to such a challenge [we] could introduce several reserve currencies and several financial centers," Putin said.
